What a way to end 2001 !!. 

An extremely surprised Michael was, unusually, almost lost for words when President Bruce announced that he had something rather special to say and do once dinner was over.

In the citation, Bruce described how Mike, over almost two decades in the Club, had always been the 'Mr. Fixit'; the fellow who 'made it happen' with the minimum of fuss and the person who was always at the front of the queue to help others in need. 

During the last year Mike played the lead role in the Club's 'hands on' project to refurbish the local Multiple Sclerosis Society community house in Heston
