The Rotary Club of Heston & Isleworth

September 2004 'Happenings'

Updated 3 October 2004

President Mike De Cort inducts new Rotarian, Fred Fox, into the Rotary Club of Heston & Isleworth.

Fred spent the bulk of his professional career in the Navy and gave us a fascinating talk on his 'adventurous' and sometimes dangerous work.

Honorary Rotarian, Thalia Marriott , is presented with her pin by President Mike and we are delighted to have Thalia as an Honorary member for a second year.

Thalia is the Principal of the neighbouring West Thames College that occupies the grounds of the Old Pears House in Isleworth.

The Club planted a Golden Rubinia Tree in the grounds of the college to mark the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen.

Having returned from a World Scouting Jamboree in Thailand, members of the local Venture Scouts (whom we helped to sponsor) returned to visit us and gave a stunning AV presentation on a very exciting and unique opportunity to foster International Understanding.
